Councillor Tony Cornell, Chairman of East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “Christmas is a wonderful time of the year – offering the chance to catch up with friends, loved ones and our families. For me it is also a time to reflect on what has been a busy year for the district.
“As Chairman, I have seen first hand the hard work of officers and councillors as we have all come together with our partners and the public for the benefit of district.
“This year we have made significant steps to tackle with the issues such as infrastructure, leisure development and recycling. We will have further challenges in the New Year as we aim to meet the needs of our residents and as councillors we obviously have elections in May to concentrate our minds.
“However these matters are for the future. For now, I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of my fellow councillors and everyone at East Cambridgeshire District Council, to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
