New weekly Sunday Market with Car Boot to launch in Ely

With the Weekly Sunday Market attracting an increasingly wide range of shoppers – the experience is being opened up to local residents to join in via a car boot throughout the summer.

Starting on Sunday 26 July, the District Council is inviting anyone wishing to take part in a car boot to get in contact and book a space.

Pre booking is essential with a space costing just £5 and should be done via the Markets team on 01353 665555.

The car boot will be open to public from 9.30am until 2pm – setting up can begin at 8.30am but no food sales are allowed and some terms and conditions will apply.

Cllr Hamish Ross, Service Delivery Champion: Markets & Town Centres at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “Our new WeeklySunday Market contains an eclectic range of food, flower, craft and vintage stalls and from Sunday 26 July we are introducing a special Summer Car Boot every week.  So why not clear out your attic and join the car boot or pop along to view and bag the best bargains. With entertainment for the younger members of the family and lots of delicious street food, there’s something to keep everyone amused.”
