Ely Markets this Bank Holiday Weekend

This weekend visitors to Ely’s Markets will be able to enjoy a bumper weekend with something for everyone over the Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday on Ely Market Place.

Saturday hosts the regular Craft & Collectables Market with a number of guest stalls along the High Street plus the award winning popular Farmers’ Market with its fresh, local produce.

On Sunday and Monday, alongside the Flower, Food & Craft Market, shoppers will find a host of stalls from across all our markets and some special guests.

There will be the colour and smell of many flowers, plants and shrubs, the chance to buy a special gift from a variety of arts and crafts stalls as well as the chance to sample delicious tasters from the many food stalls, including:

*       Artisan bread and fine cakes
*       Rare breed sausages
*       Specialist English and continental cheeses
*       Spanish delicatessen and charcuterie
*       Artisan local gin
*       Olives and continental pastries
*       Savoury flatbreads to sample on the market or take away to enjoy at home.

The market opens at 10am until 4pm and along with some amazing produce, there will also be plenty to keep the younger family members amused with children’s rides and face painting.

Tracey Harding, Team Leader – Tourism and Town Centres said: “Along with our regular weekly Thursday and Saturday Markets, the Flower, Food & Craft Market has developed over the last couple of years to be a very popular event with traders, visitors and shoppers. There’s lots of variety and great local produce to choose from so we hope to see large crowds as ever on Ely Market Place on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.  This weekend visitors can while away their time on the market by choosing a snack or meal from the array of street food stalls while they browse the guest stalls selling a selection of garden-related giftware and ornaments including woodcraft, scented candles, leather goods as well as jewellery, arts and crafts.”
