With a strategic oversight to ensure compliance within the governance framework you will be ready to help shape our long-term future enriching local life through heritage.
The Role
Ely Museum is an independent museum that tells the story of the landscape of the local area and the lives people who have lived there. We are delighted to have been supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and have recently undergone a £2.2m redevelopment of the exhibitions and building, including the addition of a second-floor extension and the restoration of many of its historic features.
As a Trustee you will help to protect the assets and fabric of our award-winning accredited Museum as well as ensure a sustainable position and enable growth of our commercial activities. In addition, we’ll look to you to use your skills and expertise to support collaboration and inclusion to further build on our reputation.
About You
With the ability to devote the time required, think creatively and demonstrate integrity and objectivity you’ll contribute to the work of the Board and use your skills, knowledge and experience to contribute to our future success.
Perhaps you have a background in fundraising or accountancy or maybe your previous work experience has seen you work on environmental sustainability. It could be that you have connections with the culture and heritage sector or a flair for marketing and communications. If volunteer co-ordination is your focus or event planning is second nature, then you could have something special to offer.
