Off His Trolley?

Hello, and welcome to Editor's Thought For The Day, which may not actually appear every day. Just depends if I have a thought worth relating really.

Tescos Motorised Trolley?Anyway, this morning I noticed this rather splendid Tesco trolley parked near to my house on St. John's Road. And as you can see in the photo there is a helmet on the ground near to it. Which make me wonder how did it get there? Well, the helmet suggests it was "driven" there.

Tesco's store is perhaps a mile away from this location so did someone drive it from Tesco store with shopping inside, unload the shopping and then park it at the side of the road carefully, but then rather carelessly leave his helmet near it on the road? It could get pinched!

Or, assuming it wasn't driven there, because as far as I know Tesco trolleys dont yet have engines, did someone after having done the rounds at Tesco think "Oh I can't be bothered to move my shopping out of this trolley and into my vehicle and then have to park the trolley in that trolley park which is ooh, all of 10 yards away - I will just lift the whole trolley including shopping into my vehicle" - (which presumably must have been a van because it wouldn't fit into a conventional car) "and then ditch the trolley when I get home"? Probably more likely.

And then some "young people" found the trolley and decided to have fun pushing each other up and down the road in it? If that is the case then good to see that health and safety concerns were addressed by the use of a helmet. And some people think that kids of today have no sense. I put it to you that the presence of the helmet suggests otherwise! Or do you have a different theory about all this? Comment below.
