Hello and welcome to the newly renovated Ely Online website.
This website has existed in some form since 1996 and so is the longest established website about Ely on the net. We realise that the website has become outdated in parts over recent years and so have now given it (and are still giving it) a much needed makeover. However, we will continue to provide a link to some of the older pages for a while until we can incorporate all the useful stuff. The old website can be accessed here.
The new website underlying system allows us to have external contributors who can post articles etc. directly into the website so if you would like to contribute please contact me. We now have 3 contributors - John Glover (with his always thought-provoking column "Viva Las Vagueness" , former frontman with local band Nutmeg - Tom Dalpra who provides his thought-provoking "Stranger Than Fiction" column - and former Bible frontman - now respected solo performer and songwriter (and also Ely resident) Boo Hewerdine!
Ely Online has made the regional and even national news in the past and we will continue to speak up when we feel things need saying. You can also have you say by means of our letters page.
Also, if you run a business or a club, organisation or society We ask that you take the time to add details to our new Ely Directory. Listings are free but we do make a small annual charge to businesses to link to their own website.
