![]() PICTURE THE SCENE: BBC Studio (big room with 10000000 lights hanging from the ceiling.. You are @ Sitting in a Cinema Seat but are told when to breathe by the " f l o o r - m a n a g e r " @ 5 minutes to 9pm Anne Robinson comes out to say... "Hello...Don't mess wid me or I kill you..!" Are you sitting comfortably,
for the next 4 HOURS..! Ely.org.uk will have a place on the "speakeasy" bench and are thinking of saying the following.... --- Well Anne, Oliver was a local man in every sense of the word. He was a man with little title, who married for better, Elizabeth Boucher and with her came the un-enviatable position of Collector of Tythes for our Medieval City called Ely. The lack of local Historical references to this time "bears testimony" to the stability of "Reign of Oliver" as Local Authoritarian. His Community Spirit was in fact a lot deeper, he stood for Parliament and was duly elected. Please bear in mind that
the Civil War was NOT CREATED by Oliver. The battle between Monarchy
& Parliament was long standing just so happened to erupt during
this very period. While many supported the struggle, few were prepared to "lead the revolution". Oliver would stand accountable and surfaced like the "Wheat from the Chaff" as not only the Greatest Military & POLITICAL Leader of all time but without doubt, the "Greatest Briton" ever..! HIS LEGACY is DEMOCRACY Even the Late Richard
Harris elected to play Oliver Cromwell in the film COMMONER TO KING VOTE OLIVER CROMWELL
