The Ely Experience, a new tour bus running from Cambridge to Ely

A new tourist bus taking sight seers from Cambridge to Ely has recently opened for business. The bus is the brainchild of Steve Pettitt, who is keen to show off Ely to tourists who might otherwise miss this jewel in the fens.

He said: "Ely is a fantastic place and there is so much to see here."
Steve did some trial runs of the service last week before today's official start.

"It's gone excellently, people have really enjoyed it. We start at the riverside and then come up to the historic area through the park. "We give them four hours here, which is not enough to see everything by any means - it's a taster really," he said.

Steve has already entertained tourists from Switzerland, Poland, Spain and France and is looking forward to a busy summer showing people around his beloved Ely.

The minibus leaves the Cambridge Tourist Centre at 10.30am daily, except Sundays, and returns around 4pm.

Tickets are £10 with an optional Passport to Ely ticket, giving discounted entry to the Cathedral, Oliver Cromwell's House, Ely Museum and The Stained Glass Museum, also available.
